This is where you learn ALL about Award Winning Green Light!
Green Light was formed from humble beginnings as a pickup band for a friend's retirement from the military in 1999. The first "Green Light" gig took place at Corvettes Lounge in South Patrick Shores, where we meet Ray Bell and who soon became the Front-Man for Green Light. The original band lineup included Mike Pinnick and Tony Calenda on Guitars, Dottie Pinnick on Bass, Norm Edwards on Drums and Ray Bell on Vocals. It was really fun playing with friends and for friends that day so it wouldn't take long for the famous phone call to be made and about a year later it did.......... DUDE We're getting the band back together!!! When Green Light came back they brought another guitar player with them, "The Wild Man" himself, Danny Robertson.
Green Light played together for several years expanding its song list. In 2004, the band picked up Ms. Becky Lehnerz to complement Ray's power vocals and so we would get to play all those pissed off chick songs! This opened a whole new world for Green Light and took the band to the next level.
In 2007, Green Light reached a pinnacle when they were nominated and won Brevard County's Favorite Cover Band for The Brevard Live Music Awards. Also nominated were Dottie Pinnick, as Favorite Bass Player, Tony Calenda as Favorite Guitar Player, Ray Bell as Favorite Vocalist, and Norm Edwards as Favorite Drummer, which he also won.
For Norm to win this award seemed like the best going away present ever. Uncle Sam called right after this and Norm Edwards had to move away to serve. Green Light was fortunate enough to pick up Tron Podgorski who seamlessly transitioned into the band, which was again nominated as Brevard's County's Favorite Cover Band for 2008.
Now it is 2009, as Green Light takes another turn. Mike & Dottie Pinnick decided to take to the byways and start living the RV life, leaving the band to search for someone to fill the void, and we have done just that! March 14th 2009, Green Light walked on stage and played for 10,000 plus people at Meg O'Malley's St. Patrick's Day Celebration Street Party, crushing any rumors about Green Light being no more and leaving the multitudes screaming ... "ONE MORE SONG!"
Green Light SINCERELY appreciates all of our loyal fans and friends. You are the reason we do this. We hope to see you at our next show! |
